Bitossi Thai Silk Pottery Console Bowl by Aldo Londi for Rosenthal Netter
I found this vintage bowl at a Flat Rock, NC estate. The Thai Silk pattern was designed by Aldo Londi for Bitossi, and this artistic bowl was imported by Rosenthal Netter. It has a green glaze with a band of Rimini Blue, and gold accents trace the rim and highlight the blue band, with a touch of gold at the center too. The surface keeps its original rougher, hand-crafted texture, which gives it real character. It has true mid-century appeal, so it makes a lovely centerpiece on a console or coffee table, or a piece for a collector to treasure.
The Rosenthal Netter label is still on the bottom. The company was founded in Manhattan in 1959 and brought in high quality ceramics, glass, and decorative pieces from Italy and across Europe. It closed in the late 1970s, and collectors still seek out its pieces today.
Measurements (approximate): 10" wide, 8.75" rim diameter, 6" base. Weighs just over 5 lbs. 5 oz.
Condition: Excellent pre-owned condition.
