I found this one at a sale and couldn't leave it behind. The artist spent real time on this plate. Every rose, every leaf, every soft blush of color was painted by hand.
The roses are that perfect dusty pink you only seem to find on older china, set against a soft sage-green ground that shifts into into pink and yellow in areas. The rim scallops in and out unevenly, a little embossed, a little gold-gilded, in that way that tells you this was shaped by hand rather than stamped out by machine.
It's from the 1970s, 8 1/2" across, and it's in lovely vintage condition. This is the kind of piece that looks beautiful simply leaned on a plate stand, or brought out for a tea party where you actually want people to notice the table.
